KCFF AND KINGSTON FILM & MEDIA OFFICE PRESENT KINGSTON SCRIPT TO SCREEN PROGRAM
Do you have a creative project in the works and are looking to pitch it to industry professionals? Submit your film or television project to participate in a live pitch event at KCFF26! The Kingston Canadian Film Festival and the Kingston Film & Media Office are excited to offer 5 writers, producers, or directors the opportunity to pitch their original scripted or unscripted film or series idea to a panel of industry experts who will provide feedback and real-world expertise.
The 5 jury-selected finalists will receive KCFF26 Industry Passes, allowing them to enjoy films and events throughout the Festival, and to attend Creative Industries Day to network with industry professionals. They will be required to attend a pitching workshop in advance of the live pitch event, as well as the pitch event itself. The winner will be announced at the KCFF Awards Party on March 1, 2026.
The winner will receive:
- Up to two virtual meetings with a producer from Shaftesbury Entertainment on their concept, with help on how to pitch to a wider professional market at Prime Time hosted by the Canadian Media Producers Association
- Up to two virtual meetings with the Kingston Film & Media team to get you ready for Prime Time industry events and one-on-one sessions with decision-makers at these key industry events
- A conference pass for Prime Time in Ottawa in January 2027, plus accommodation, train travel, and per diem
- A Market Industry Pass for TIFF 2026
Participants must be open to constructive feedback and have a strong concept that is fully realized, but in need of an extra push to achieve market-readiness. Check the specifics below for recommended criteria.
Submissions will be judged based on the calibre of stories and the quality of writing, with consideration given to stories from creators with diversity in age and/or professional backgrounds, as well as historically under-represented cultural creators.
