Nimble master of improvisation and accomplished impressionist who delights in the absurd, Seán Cullen, brings his all-new show to the Kingston Canadian Film Festival.  Toronto-based comedian Dan Galea is also on the bill.

 

For two-and-a-half decades, Cullen has dominated the Canadian comedy scene as an award-winning comedian, actor, author and screenwriter. Described in Time Magazine as “the vanguard of comedy”, Cullen has earned three Gemini Awards, three Canadian Comedy Awards, an ACTRA Award, a Rocky Mountain Book Award, an Arthur Ellis Book Award and was twice nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. Cullen was a finalist on NBC’s LAST COMIC STANDING, and appeared on THE TONIGHT SHOW, THE LATE LATE SHOW, countless JUST FOR LAUGHS GALAS, THE DEBATERS and as a panelist on MATCH GAME.

Bio

Described in Time Magazine as “the vanguard of comedy”, Cullen has earned three Gemini Awards, three Canadian Comedy Awards, an ACTRA Award, a Rocky Mountain Book Award, an Arthur Ellis Book Award and was twice nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. Cullen was a finalist on NBC’s LAST COMIC STANDING, and appeared on THE TONIGHT SHOW, THE LATE LATE SHOW, countless JUST FOR LAUGHS GALAS, THE DEBATERS and as a panelist on MATCH GAME. As an actor, he has appeared in THE ELLEN SHOW, WORKIN’ MOMS, CARTER, and DARK MATTER. Most recently, he starred as Lord Muto in the Canadian film, THE TWENTIETH CENTURYa historical re-envisioning of the life of William Lyon Mackenzie King, which premiered at TIFF this year. He can also be heard in the upcoming animated Netflix film THE WILLOUGHBYS with Ricky Gervais, Martin Short, and Maya Rudolph. This adds to an impressive voice acting resume including CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, and ROCKET MONKEYS among many others. Cullen has performed at national and international comedy festivals such as Montreal’s Just For Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Most recently, he performed at JFL42 in Toronto.
