To celebrate their first wedding anniversary, Jules (Brittany Allen) takes Jackie (Hannah Emily Anderson) up to her family’s lakeside cabin for what’s supposed to be a romantic getaway. But fate has something very different in store for the two characters in this twisty thriller by Colin Minihan. Already a favourite of genre audiences thanks to his work on the GRAVE ENCOUNTERS movies and IT STAINS THE SAND RED, the B.C.-bred writer and director hits a whole new level with this grisly yet surprisingly emotional story of love and terror, which met a wildly enthusiastic response at Austin’s SXSW festival before becoming one of the year’s most acclaimed horror films. The scenic woodsy setting may also have you thinking twice about your next trip to the Muskokas.

Filmmaker Bio

Canadian Director Colin Minihan is best known for co-creating the popular 2011 GRAVE ENCOUNTERS  franchise. Notably, Minihan co-wrote and directed IT STAINS THE SAND RED, which won the Midnight Extreme Award at the Sitges International Film Festival and had its North American premier at the LA film festival and was released by Dark Sky Films. As well as STILL/BORN, which was awarded ‘The Scariest Film’ at The Overlook Film Festival and is being released by Vertical Entertainment and AMC’s Shudder in 2018. Minihan also founded the independent production company Digital Interference. Additionally, as a music video director Minihan won the Much Music Video Director of The Year Award in 2009, and has directed nearly one hundred music videos for a wide range of artist. His recent feature, WHAT KEEPS YOU ALIVE shows the importance of art in horror films and had its world premiere at SXSW Film Festival  . Since then, the film has also screened at Inside Out, the Sydney Film Festival, Cinepocalypse, and Popcorn Frights, as well as other festivals.
