An emerging filmmaker proudly showcased as part of KCFF’s 18 MM Program in 2024, Kingston’s own Annie Stewart returns with a stirring documentary about a team that made Canadian junior-hockey history two decades ago. With its combination of thrilling game highlights and new interviews with the coaches and players who poured everything they had into making it all happen, TEAM OF THE CENTURY revisits the London Knights’ drive toward their historic triumph at the 2005 Memorial Cup, a match-up in which they famously edged out a teenaged Sidney Crosby and the Rimouski Océanic. Stewart’s film captures the action on the ice just as vividly as it conveys the emotions of the people who experienced that special season firsthand.
