We’re Looking for a Marketing Manager!

As the Kingston Canadian Film Festival (KCFF) ramps up preparations for our 25th anniversary edition (Feb 26-Mar 2, 2025, save the dates!) we’re looking for a MARKETING MANAGER to help us out! The Marketing Manager will develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the festival, attract audiences, and engage partners. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with strong digital marketing expertise who values the creative arts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Develop and implement marketing plans to drive awareness, attendance, and engagement for the film festival.
  • Campaigns: Create, manage, and optimize marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, print, and traditional media, public relations and promotional events.
  • Social Media: Develop and execute social media strategies to build and maintain a strong online presence, engage with followers, and promote festival events.
  • Website maintenance: maintain festival website, including site updates and content development.
  • Communications: write content (press releases, web & social content, program guide), generate media interest and manage requests, support partner and sponsor engagement.
  • Promotional material: manage production of festival collateral including ads, posters, and program guides.
  • Analytics: Monitor and report on marketing campaign performance, including metrics such as reach, engagement, and ticket sales.

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Film Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing; experience with event marketing preferred.
  • Experience with festivals or similar events is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media platforms, and content creation.
  • Web content management experience, particularly WordPress
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with media partners.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools and software (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management platforms, CRM systems).

Employment Type: fixed term contract, with possibility of ongoing permanent full-time.
Contract Dates: October 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025
Hours: This is a full-time fixed term contract with an average of 35 hours/week. Some evenings and weekends are required. The festival dates (Feb 26-Mar 3, 2025) are significantly busier
Reporting to: Executive Director
Salary: $52,500 pro-rated for 6-month contract ($26,250)
