Funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, this workshop session is perfect for students heading into the job market and professionals who want to solidify their career in an artistic discipline (Crafts, Dance, Digital Media, Film & TV, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, Writing)!

The Art of Managing Your Career (TAMYC) is a guide developed by artists and cultural workers, providing emerging self-employed artists and cultural workers with pertinent and practical information to better manage their careers. Using TAMYC, this workshop address:

  • Knowing the Market

  • Knowing Yourself

  • Knowing your Project(s)

This is accomplished through the fundamental elements of a business plan that considers sustainable competitive advantage while identifying artistic and commercial/entrepreneurial goals.

The first two hours will discuss the TAMYC guide through a informative and insightful presentation. The third hour will allow participants to draft crucial elements of their business and marketing plans and allow for further interactive discussion about a career in the arts sector.
