Details

The intensely powerful music of Tanya Tagaq is the rocket fuel for EVER DEADLY, a stunning collaboration between the Juno- and Polaris Music Prize-winning Inuk throat singer/composer/writer and artist and filmmaker Chelsea McMullan. Together they have created an unconventional and continually surprising portrait of Tagaq as both artist and activist. Shifting between scenes of Tagaq at home in Nunavut, performances on stage with her band, and startling animated segments by Inuk artist Shuvinai Ashoona, the film ventures far beyond the customary boundaries of music documentaries to become a work that’s as thrilling and urgent as Tagaq’s most visceral and emotionally charged recordings and performances.
