KCFF’s 18 MM PROGRAM teaches filmmaking to YGK youth

KCFF has recently launched its 18 MM PROGRAM which is providing workshops and mentorship for eight local youth. Upon completion of the workshops, youth will embark upon their filmmaking journey this summer, with access to equipment and additional mentorship. This fall, the participants will work on post-production and prepare for a world premiere on the big screen at KCFF24.

The participants have been eagerly coming to The Broom Factory each weekend to work with KCFF instructor (and shorts programmer) Ahmed Nour.  There is no cost of the students to participate and they’ll all be paid for screening their work at the Fest this winter.

We’ll keep providing updates as the project develops. Big thanks to our partners Tourism Kingston, Queen’s Film and Media Department, and YourTV Kingston.
