COVID policies update

Despite news of the Province implementing new regulations on March 1, KCFF will continue with its plans to sell to a maximum 50% capacity, require proof of vaccination for entry, and make mask-wearing mandatory.

On March 1, it appears as though Ontario intends to remove capacity limits for theatres and proof of vaccination requirements.  The Province’s current language is:

If public health and health care indicators continue to improve, the following public health and workplace safety measures will come into effect on March 1, 2022: capacity limits lifted in all indoor public setting; proof of vaccination requirements lifted, with businesses being allowed to implement them voluntarily.

At the time of writing, it seems likely that the Province will implement these new measures.  However, as a small organization, we’re unable to adapt to these changes on such short notice (possibly only 2 days prior to KCFF), considering we’re dealing with pre-determined plans for hundreds of audience members, staff, volunteers, special guests, several venues, and many other moving pieces. We have also sold hundreds of tickets to audience members who have purchased under the current conditions.

We remain excited for both our in-person AND digital festival and hope you can enjoy KCFF from wherever you may be viewing this year!
