KCFF offers a number of credited internship opportunities. Running from mid-November to mid-March, KCFF internships offer the opportunity to:

  • meet people in the film industry,
  • learn about festival administration,
  • and gain valuable work experience.

Because KCFF is a small organization, our interns are key members of our staff. Each intern will have the opportunity to manage their own projects, interact with industry professionals and manage their time to complete assignments on deadline. The internship is fast-paced and challenging, but also really fun.

Administrative Intern The admin intern is involved in everything from event planning, web writing, press and public relations and managing guests and volunteers at the festival. We're looking for someone with great organizational skills, ease with computers, confidence and a love of film.

Hospitality InternThe hospitality intern makes sure industry guests are comfortable during their stay in Kingston.  Duties include: assembling gift bags, food and drink preparation and transportation for guests.  We're looking for someone with great people skills, confidence and a love of film. Smart Serve is an asset, but not required.
Production InternThe production intern films clips that are played before the films at the festival. Those clips include interviews with our sponsors, events happening at the festival itself and behind the scenes clips of our guests and events. We're looking for someone with production experience, who can use a camera and microphone competently, and at ease with interviewing people.
Sponsorship InternSponsorship interns are responsible for marketing the festival to the retail community. Duties include: overseeing the Festival Auction, fundraising, meeting new clients, and ensuring the event is promoted.   We’re looking for applicants who consider themselves personable, with strong writing skills and experience using social media as a marketing tool.
