KCFF offers a number of internship opportunities each season.  Running from October to mid-March, the internships offer the opportunity to meet people in the film industry, learn about festival administration and gain valuable work experience.  Queen’s students may be eligible for a FILM 390 credit or paid work study position (email us for more info!).

KCFF interns are key members of our staff and have the opportunity to manage projects and interact with industry professionals.  The internship is fast-paced and challenging, but also really fun. Past interns have gone on to attain employment with: the Toronto International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, CBC, Movieola, and lots more!

Administrative Interns  Tasks include event planning, programming, graphic design, press and public relations, venue managing and managing volunteers. We’re looking for a quick learner with great organizational skills, ease with computers, confidence and the ability to problem solve and deal with the public…..and a love for Canadian film, of course.

Hospitality Interns  Tasks include organizing festival receptions, parties, fundraisers and the guest hospitality suite.  Hospitality Interns communicate regularly with our industry guests and festival sponsors and must be friendly, outgoing, organized, and confident. We’re looking for someone with great people skills and a love of film.  Smart Serve and a driver’s licence is an asset.

Production Interns  Tasks include developing sponsor clips, interviews, previews, and other digital content leading up to the festival.  We’re looking for someone with production experience, their own equipment (or regular access to equipment), a creative eye for film, and the ability to work independently and in a group setting.  A driver’s licence and car is an asset.

Sponsorship/Marketing Interns  Tasks include fundraising, meeting new sponsors, assisting with promotion, and helping with sponsor activations during the festival.  We’re looking for applicants who are creative, personable, confident, outgoing, reliable, business-minded, and organized.
